Ensuring continuous quality enhancement across academic and administrative domains

The SHEAT College of Engineering created an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to establish an environment of conscious, consistent, and proactive improvement in the institution's overall performance. The IQAC was established in accordance with the recommendations of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The IQAC fosters a quality culture by implementing initiatives supported by both internal and external stakeholders and evaluates their success through ongoing assessments and regular meetings. The institution's IQAC aims to achieve excellence in all academic and administrative pursuits.

Functions of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

  1. Development and application of quality benchmarks.
  2. Parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  3. Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
  4. Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  5. Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders.
  6. Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles.
  7. Documentation of the various programs/activities leading to quality improvement.
  8. Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
  9. Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality.
  10. Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up.

Outcomes of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Activities

  1. All India Survey for Higher Education (AISHE).
  2. Feedback from stakeholders.
  3. Promoting Technology Enhanced Learning – MOOC.
  4. Collaboration with other organizations.
  5. Improvement in placement records of students.
  6. Improvement in attainment level of program outcomes of all programs.
  7. Successful conduction of international conferences, workshops, and FDPs.
  8. Improvement in research activities viz. research grants, publications, and patents.
  9. Existence of an eco-system for startup and incubation.
  10. Improvement in extracurricular and co-curricular activities for holistic student development.

The IQAC serves as a catalyst for quality enhancement at SHEAT College of Engineering, ensuring continuous improvement through strategic planning, regular evaluation, and collaborative initiatives. It reinforces the college’s commitment to excellence and sustainable institutional growth.
