Why study D.Pharm at SHEAT College of Pharmacy?

A pharmacy-only campus with a long track record

SHEAT College of Pharmacy started in 2007 at Gahani Ayer, on the quieter, greener outskirts of Varanasi. The campus is used for pharmacy and higher education, not engineering. Your classrooms, labs and faculty are all focused on pharmaceutical sciences.

Labs built to PCI norms

D.Pharm students work in dedicated labs for Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, and Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy. The Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy lab has a mock pharmacy with medicine storage, so you practise reading prescriptions and counselling patients before you meet real ones.

Teachers who know diploma students

The D.Pharm department has a dedicated team of assistant professors and lecturers. They are supported by the wider pharmacy faculty of 25+ members who also teach B.Pharm and M.Pharm. Classes are small enough for teachers to follow each student's practical work.

A clear path to B.Pharm

Many D.Pharm students go on to a degree. With a D.Pharm from a PCI-approved institution, you can apply for B.Pharm lateral entry directly into the 3rd semester on the same campus. See the B.Pharm course page.

Support beyond the classroom

  • A Career Guidance & Placement Cell that arranges industrial visits, guest lectures and campus drives
  • Separate hostels for boys and girls, with Wi-Fi, mess and CCTV security
  • A pharmacy library with 8,100+ volumes and 14 journals
  • Help with the UP Post-Matric Scholarship and fee reimbursement
  • Health cover through the group's partner, Infinity Care Hospital, Varanasi

D.Pharm eligibility

To join D.Pharm at SHEAT, you must have:

  1. Passed 10+2 (Intermediate) in the regular science stream from a recognised board
  2. Studied Physics and Chemistry, plus Biology or Mathematics
  3. Met the minimum marks set by BTEUP for the session (the admission office can confirm the current requirement)

PCI also accepts any other qualification it has approved as equivalent. Students from Bihar and other states may apply. Ask the admission office about domicile-based quotas and scholarship rules.

D.Pharm admission process 2026-27

In Uttar Pradesh, D.Pharm seats in BTEUP-affiliated colleges are filled through JEECUP (UP Polytechnic) counselling for the Pharmacy group. Seats left vacant after counselling are filled by the college under BTEUP rules.

  1. Register for JEECUP counselling (pharmacy) on the official portal and choose SHEAT College of Pharmacy, Varanasi (code 4892) during choice filling.
  2. Seat allotment: pay the acceptance and counselling fee shown on the JEECUP portal.
  3. Report to campus with your allotment letter and original documents for verification.
  4. Pay the provisional admission amount (₹20,000, adjusted against your fee). Deposit the full first-semester fee within 15 days.
  5. Direct admission (vacant seats): if you missed counselling, call the admission office. The office will tell you whether seats are available and what process applies. Contact the admission office for current dates.
