This page presents SHEAT patent and design registration records. At SHEAT College of Engineering & Management, Varanasi, faculty and students are encouraged to turn ideas from classrooms, labs and projects into protected intellectual property. Certificates issued by the Patent Office, Government of India, are shown on this page as they are received.
Registered Design
The certificate displayed on this page is a Certificate of Registration of Design issued by the Patent Office, Government of India, under the Designs Act, 2000 and the Designs Rules, 2001. Patents and Designs: The Difference
- A patent protects a new invention, such as a process, machine or product, that is useful and not obvious.
- A registered design protects the shape, pattern or appearance of a product.
- Both are granted in India by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks.
How SHEAT Supports Innovation
Project work in the engineering, computing and management departments gives students a chance to solve real problems. The college's research policy and IQAC encourage research, publications and patents, and faculty guide promising ideas towards filing.
