Saraswati Higher Education and Technical Postgraduate College, located on the Bhojubir–Sindhora Road, approximately one kilometer west of Mudhda Bazaar in Village Gahani, is a prominent institution dedicated to advancing education in rural Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
While the pace of educational development has accelerated across India, rural regions of Eastern Uttar Pradesh have historically lagged behind. Recognizing this gap, Shri Jagdish Narayan Singh established the Saraswati Trust in memory of his late mother, Smt. Saraswati Devi, with a vision to promote accessible and quality education.
In 2002, the foundation of the institution was laid in the underdeveloped rural area of Gahani with the aim of providing higher education opportunities at the undergraduate level. Understanding the growing need for employment-oriented education, the college introduced B.Sc. and B.P.Ed. programs in 2004.
The institution achieved a significant milestone in 2010 by obtaining recognition for the BTC (Basic Training Certificate) program, positioning itself among the leading colleges in Varanasi.
